Finally, the windshield came off, leaving the Cerbie looking rather strange.

Now it was time to prep the replacement windshield, which had a couple of minor chips on it. The label said it was made in Finland. This was also the time to put the rearview mirror and lengths of rubber trim on it. Note the mess from the Cerbie’s oil stains on my side of the garage.
This is just a dry run to see where the bead of adhesive needs to be put. It’s a special 3M windshield adhesive tube, and it’s black. Some of this was also used to fill in the chips (they were in the black border of the glass), and then made very flat by running a blade over it when it was just beginning to dry.

Then it was time to reverse everything that was done to the carbon fibre trim pieces, and another hour of cleanup with a special solvent, vacuuming, etc.
2 hours to dry enough to move the car into the garage, and an overnight wait for it to set. Test drive first thing in the morning to check for air leaks and finally the car was good as new. How long will this windshield last?
