A Yellow Elise S2 Comes To America

After all the delays, first with the factory shutting down and then postponing production
and then delays in loading it onto the shipping and then the ship itself getting stuck at
the Panama Canal because of hurricane Isidore, and then, finally, after the customs hassles, a
monster strike at the shipyards, it almost didn’t happen. But, finally, with perseverance, I was
able to persuade a trucker to get the container out.

The seal numbers are checked and then the seals are cut. The doors open to reveal the
car and other stuff that was also packed into the container.

The truck is backed up against the unloading dock and the car is finally revealed after all the
packaging tape is removed. It looks, and feels, beautiful.

This shows the ramp (or “steps”) we created to get the car out!  A quick drive home, and there
it was, settling into its new homeland! 200-odd delivery miles to Felixstowe from Hethel, a
jaunt across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal, and then up the Pacific Coast, and
an Elise S2 is finally in America.
